Hello,I was diagnosed of the same HSV-1 Genital using a viral swab and later blood test confirmed that too.Could you give me more information as I have the same questions. Whats the risk of passing it orally and genitally? Also whenever i get an itch and dont see any sores, what would that be?Can i have normal sex life without passing it to my partner? Is it the viral shedding?

A swab test is much more effective than a blood test. Seem the herpes blood test doesn’t tell a person if the virus is genital or oral herpes... For detail, click here

As many as 80% of Americans have been exposed to hsv1 in their lifetime and thus already have antibodies to it. Hsv1 has a much lower rate of asymptomatic shedding than infrequently as 1 day per month. Antiviral treatment can drop that close to zero. There is always a chance of transmission by asymptomatic shedding, but outbreaks and shedding typically become less frequent after a few years.
